За мен
I am an artist based in Bansko, Bulgaria, following the echoes of my ancestors, icon painters of the Bansko Art School. My family line, known as Molerite, began with Toma Vishanov, who dared to push the boundaries of traditional iconography, challenging norms and leaving a lasting imprint on Bulgarian art. For four generations, they painted. For four generations, they were silent. And now, I paint again.
My work is a personal renaissance—a rediscovery of my own creative voice, unbound by tradition yet deeply rooted in history. While my ancestors depicted saints, I paint people. Beautiful female faces, strange characters, raw, and full of life. Faces that tell stories. Emotions that demand to be seen. I embrace a naive, colorful, and modern expression, seeking introspection, playfulness, and freedom rather than rigid formalism.
I studied art in high school but never pursued academic training, convinced that the doors of the academy would remain closed to me. Instead, I walked a different path, working in tourism for years before returning to what was always mine—painting. It was a slow, difficult process, like learning to speak again after years of silence. But I never looked back.
Today, my paintings have found homes in private collections across the world—Italy, Israel, the USA, France, Germany, the UK, Belgium, and beyond. Every piece is a reflection of my journey, my search for meaning, and the joy of artistic rebellion.
I paint because my soul demands it. I paint because I am still becoming.
